Middle Eastern banks: Narrating value creation stories through annual reports
Need:
The Gulf region is a fiercely competitive and fragmented banking marketplace. Against that backdrop, the region’s banks view annual reports as key for communicating their competitive strengths, with stakeholders ranging from core investors to rating agencies and corporate clients. The banks need writers who understand the local banking market to describe how they are creating value.
Approach:
Every bank is different, with a distinct collection of underlying businesses. Within the context of each bank’s stated goals, interviews with senior management revealed the progress made during the year, both operationally and financially. What followed was a drafting process that crafted the story of the year within the context of management’s strategy.
Outcome:
Over time, our reputation spread, and we won new clients in Bahrain and Abu Dhabi. Over time, clients in the region included Arcapita, Al Baraka Group, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank and Bank ABC.
